If you answered No to the above:

Why is this important?
In June 2014, the Department of Environment has made a revision to the Environmental Clean Air Regulation of 2014. In the revised regulation, all factory owners must get a Written Notification for all their chimney / stack from D.O.E prior to operation.

Possible Consequences:
1) Face a maximum fine of maximum RM 100,000.
2) Not more then 2 years in jail.
3) Your factory may be sealed from operations.

The revised act provides a buffer of up to 5 years to do so, which ends this June 2019. Unlike previous enforcements with warning letters, the D.O.E officer has the right to directly fine or take the business to court.
